Try a Berry Blast Whey Protein Smoothie for Good Health

This healthy berry smoothie has great nutritional value. Strawberries are high in vitamin C and are a very good source of folate and dietary fiber, while also being low in calories (about 6 per large berry). Blueberries are also high in vitamin C, along with manganese and vitamin K, while low in calories, too (about 20 per ¼ cup).

The smoothie’s low-calorie soy milk is a good source of selenium, copper, and magnesium, and a very good source of manganese, while also providing 6 grams of protein. Whey protein powder that is high in whey protein isolate provides an unsurpassed source of amino acids for the body, making this smoothie a good choice for an athletic recovery drink immediately following a hard workout.

In addition to its high nutritional value, this berry blast whey protein shake is a low-calorie, low-fat smoothie. If low-calorie soy milk is used, the calorie count for this healthy smoothie is only about 200 calories, with very little fat but lots of filling protein and fiber. To add a little bit of fat and more calories, along with more filling power, a tablespoon or two of nut butter can be added if desired.
